EasyJet Tbilisi flights take off
Leisure airline easyJet has celebrated its inaugural flight to the Georgian capital Tbilisi from London Luton Airport.
Tbilisi is the airline’s newest network destination which operates twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer season.
The airline has also launched new Tbilisi flights from Geneva and Milan Malpensa this year.
Georgian capital Tbilisi offers a rich blend of history and culture, as well as unique cuisine and a lively arts scene.
To support increased air connectivity from London Luton, the airline recently based an additional Airbus A320 aircraft at its Luton base.
EasyJet’s Luton fleet now comprises 25 A320 family aircraft.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are really pleased to be providing unique direct connectivity between the UK and Tbilisi in Georgia this summer.”
“It will provide even more choice for our customers flying from London Luton who choose us for our unrivalled network.”
EasyJet’s Luton base offers 74 destinations and carries about seven million travelers annually.
In 30 years, it has flown 124 million passengers from the airport.
