EasyJet urges passengers to travel with only hand-luggage on Madrid flights
EasyJet is advising passengers travelling to Madrid this weekend to carry only hand luggage as an ongoing strike by its ground handlers at the airport is likely to cause two hour delays in delivering checked-in bags.
The airline said that where possible passengers flying to Madrid from Thursday to Sunday should pack two small bags that could be carried on to the aircraft as hand-luggage, to avoid checking in one larger bag.
It reminded passengers that restrictions on carrying liquids onboard still applied and said passengers should pack accordingly.
EasyJet is continuing to operate flights to Madrid, but with some minor disruption, it said.
"So far baggage disruption has been minimal, however with increasing passengers loads this coming weekend there is an increased risk that passenger bags may fail to connect to your flight," the airline added.
