EDITION has designs on Times Square
Marriott International have inked a deal for a second EDITION hotel in New York City in partnership with Ian Schrager and The Witkoff Group.
It follows the expected 2015 opening of the Big Apple’s first EDITION property on Madison Avenue.
This latest deal will see the first hotel of its size to be built in Times Square for over 20 years.
Featuring 452 guest rooms, EDITION Times Square will be a mixed-use development with 100,000 square feet of high-end retail space, entertainment and event venues.
The most notable feature planned is a 18,000 square foot high-definition LED sign which will become one of the biggest in the world.
As with other EDITION hotels, Schrager will mastermind the hotel’s creative design and lifestyle branding.
EDITION is a full service luxury hotel brand by Marriott, looking to aggressively grow its portfolio in the coming years.
Over the next two years, EDITION hotels are slated to open in Miami Beach, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi, India and China.
