Egencia introduces sustainable travel options with Air-Rail Display tool
Expedia Group’s Egencia business travel management service has launched an innovative tool for road warriors looking to cut their carbon footprint.
It has rolled out the Egencia Air-Rail Display, which enables travellers and travel managers to choose an alternative option to air travel for more sustainable and efficient travel.
The new sustainability tool makes it easy to upsell rail trips over air, helping the industry to significantly reduce its carbon impact.
Air-Rail Display alerts travellers and travel arrangers when an alternative journey by rail is available for the same flight route.
Providing a train option enables travellers and travel arrangers to create greener and more efficient journeys.
"As corporate travel returns, it’s important that we support businesses and travellers to make more eco-conscious decisions. This sustainability-focused tool provides a single solution to see alternative journeys that produce less carbon at no extra time or cost," said Sergio’¯Fierens, Vice President, Technology at Egencia.
Other sustainability features include a carbon tracker in the booking and checkout path; electric transport options and charging point locations; as well as a CO2 dashboard and reporting.
