El Al dropping Fort Lauderdale flights
Israel flag carrier El Al is dropping its nonstop Tel Aviv-Fort Lauderdale route from the end of next winter.
The airline will suspend the route three years after launching to its second south Florida city.
The twice weekly Ft. Lauderdale flights will end in April 2026.
It will shift the focus on its longer stablished route to nearby Miami.
“El Al will cease operations at Fort Lauderdale and will concentrate all Florida-bound flights in Miami,” Simon Newton-Smith, El Al’s VP for the Americas, said.
“El Al’s service between FLL and Tel Aviv was well-received with flights consistently operating on average over 90% full,” the airline said.
The airline plans to operate seven flights a week on the Tel Aviv-Miami route.
