Elegant Resorts and If Only gain Travelife Certified Status
Luxury tour operators Elegant Resorts and If Only have achieved The Travelife certified status, a major sustainability certification in the global travel industry.
They are the only luxury tour operators to have secured this.
The certification recognises the operators’ long-term commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
They have met more than 200 independent criteria covering office operations, supply chain management, product development, partner relationships, and customer communication.
The Travelife Standard aligns with ISO 26000 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, addressing key areas including environmental impact, biodiversity, human rights, and labour practices.
The certification provides travel agents and supplier partners with confidence that Elegant Resorts and If Only are responsible luxury partners with independently audited credentials.
Managing Director, Gordon McCreadie, said: “Travelife Certified is a highly respected accreditation and achieving it has been a significant undertaking for our teams.”
“Sustainability is a core pillar of our business strategy and central to how we operate, both at home and across our global partner network.”
David Irving, Sales & Operations Director at If Only, with the internal Travel Made Meaningful Team played a key role in securing the certification.
“This was not an easy accreditation to achieve, which is exactly why it matters. It demonstrates to our travel agent partners that sustainability is embedded across our business,” Irving said.
Naut Kusters, Manager of Travelife for Tour Operators, added “The certification of Elegant Resorts and If Only shows that sustainability within the tour operating sector is gaining real momentum and will inspire other UK operators to follow.”
Travelife is supported by more than 35 national travel associations worldwide.
Elegant Resorts and If Only achieved the highest level of the three-stage programme – Travelife Certified.
