Emirates lifts commission for agents
SYDNEY – Emirates Airline has boosted potential earnings for Australian travel agents by announcing increased commissions to nine percent on flights sold for the month of May.
Normally Emirates offers seven percent agent commission.
In a statement, the airline said, “This substantial two percent increase presents a fantastic opportunity for agents to give themselves a bonus in May when selling Emirates – particularly as all Emirates’ fares are inclusive of fuel costs and therefore fully commissionable.”
Stephen Pearse, Emirates vice president Australia said:
“Realising the important role of travel agents in Emirates’ continued growth and success, we are pleased to be able to support agents at this challenging time for the travel industry, when other carriers are reducing services.
“By providing additional commission to agents for the month of May, Emirates is providing a boost for the industry which we hope will be welcomed.â€
The nine percent commission applies to all Emirates flights and published airfares to more than 100 destinations in over 60 countries, including Emirates’ 22 European destinations.
Valid for bookings completed between now and May 31 ,2009, there are no restrictions on routings, flights or class.
