Emirates to add a second Perth to Dubai service
Emirates has unveiled plans to introduce a second daily service from Perth to Dubai this year.
The carrier will initially offer four additional services on March 2, then escalate to a daily service in September.
The second daily flights will enable same day travel to the UK for Western Australia residents.
Emirates senior vice president commercial operations East Asia and Australasia Richard Vaughan said the services reflected the airline’s confidence in the growth of the Australian, and particularly the Western Australian market.
“These services are expected to bring greater access and facilitate traffic flows between Western Australia and key markets in Europe and the Middle East,” Vaughan said.
“What’s more, passengers will now be able to depart Perth and arrive in London on the same day, leaving Perth at 06:30 and arriving in London at 18:15.”
Emirates launched its first flights from Perth in August 2002 with four services a week. It commenced daily flights in May 2003.
