Enterprise expands rental fleet ahead of holiday weekend
Anticipating a busy Independence Day holiday weekend, and strong demand for summer travel, Enterprise Holdings is boosting its car rental fleet by an extra 250,000 vehicles.
This will eventually give Enterprise’s three brands – Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car – a combined fleet of over one million vehicles, more than double any of its competitors.
With July 4 falling on a Friday, meaning a long weekend, AAA predict 41 million Americans will travel over the holiday despite rising gas prices.
This is a 1.9% increase compared to last year.
"This influx of 250,000 new cars makes our fleet even bigger and better and we’re ready to keep our customers riding in style this summer travel season," said Chrissy Taylor Broughton, senior vice president of North American operations for Enterprise Holdings.
"We were already offering our customers the latest-model, lowest-mileage selection of vehicles available."
The additional vehicles will include luxury BMW, Audi and Mercedes models, Hyundai and Mini Coopers, and Ford and Chevy convertibles.
