Enterprise Travel goes under
ABTA has announced that Enterprise Travel, based in Ashton-Under-Lyne, near Manchester ceased trading due to insolvency on 1 September. ABTA is keen to point out that the agent is not connected with any other business of a similar name.
Enterprise is the 13th UK agent to go bust this year. In 2002, 31 ABTA agents ceased trading, a decrease from 37 in 2001. The worst year in history for ABTA agents was 1991 when 120 agents went out of business.
Clients will be protected under ABTA’s financial protection scheme, which will see them offered alternative travel or full refunds.
