Etchells to stand down from Amex – role combined with foreign exchange
Stephen Etchells is to leave American Express Business Travel at the end of the month “to pursue interests outside the company”.
His role of vice president/general manager business travel UK & Ireland is being handed to Paul Hargreaves who will combine it with global foreign exchange services.
Hargreaves, who joined Amex in 1993, has held increasingly senior roles within the Foreign Exchange Services division in Europe, most recently as vice president of the operation.
In his new role, Hargreaves will combine his current responsibilities in global foreign exchange, including FX International Payments, wholesale and airport distribution channels, with driving the growth of the American Express business travel operation in the UK & Ireland, the company said.
David Herrick, senior vice president/head of business travel Europe, said: “Paul is a strong team leader and by combining his current role with leading our business travel operation in the UK & Ireland, we will be able to drive opportunities and best practice in both businesses.”
