Agents booking Etihad Airways flights will be able to offer travellers first class at business rates and receive free upgrades thremselves.

Agents and clients can fly in first class for the price of a business class fare as part of a move to highlight the airline’s services on the ground and in the sky.

The UAE carrier is running the promotion for bookings made before the end of the month.

It means that travellers can effectively buy a first class return ticket from London or Manchester to Abu Dhabi starting at £1,806 and Sydney for £3,452, including all taxes and charges, according to the airline.

Agents can upgrade when booking their own travel with the carrier.

Etihad Airways flies 21 times a week from Heathrow and runs seven flights a week from Manchester to its home base in Abu Dhabi.

UK country manager Clive Wratten said: "This promotion gives thousands of lucky travellers who so far have not had the pleasure, a chance to experience our premium product at unbelievably low prices.”
