Eurail on track with new app
The Eurail Group has launched the Rail Planner App designed to assist Eurail and InterRail Pass holders.
The free app allows pass holders to plan and execute their rail journey by providing offline timetable information for international European trains and connections.
As an offline app, an internet connection is not necessary once it’s been downloaded, with the exception of accessing some of the special features.
Besides timetable information and city maps, Rail Planner helps travellers to find their closest train station with the inbuilt augmented reality function.
Rail pass holders can also use the app to access free and discounted boat and ferry trips, as well as discounts in hotels and museums.
The app is available from the App Store or Google Play.
In other rail news, Travellers to Europe on the Eurail Global Pass in first or second class can also take advantage of free travel days.
Purchases of 15 day passes will be granted two extra travel days, while 21 day passes will be granted three extra travel days and the one month pass will be granted five extra travel days
Passes must be validated within six months from the issue date.
Rail Europe tickets are distributed by Rail Plus, Rail Tickets, CIT Holidays and Infinity Rail in Australia, and Rail Plus and Go Holidays in New Zealand.
