EURAIL sales up in North America
Despite terrorism, rising oil prices and natural disasters, the EURAIL GROUP G.I.E. reported record travel growth of 24% last year.
That represents a “staggering 73,000 additional EURAIL travelers mainly from North America (57%, followed by Asia (27%) and the Pacific (10%).” The later is showing strong growth, especially in Australia, according to EURAIL.
The Select Pass was again the most popular choice.
Travelers in the North American market are tending to plan several trips throughout the year to one or two countries rather than traveling for one consecutive summer period.
EURAIL intends to meet this trend with a new regional and national pass.
The EURAIL Group comprises 26 railways and shipping lines, as well as other partners.
