Europcar to invoice for emissions

Thursday, 14 May, 2009 0

SYDNEY – Europcar will issue its Australian customers rental invoices containing information about a vehicle’s CO2 emissions.

The new invoicing system including CO2 data was recently rolled out in New Zealand.

Europcar customers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK also receive invoices with CO2 emissions data.

It’s expected the new carbon emissions data will be available for Australian customers in the next month or so.

Group marketing manager Europcar Australia and New Zealand Ashley Jurberg said the CO2 calculation was based on the vehicle type and model as well as the distance travelled.

The CO2 invoicing system follows a recent announcement of a new supply agreement between Europcar and Audi, which will see Europcar add 150 new Audi A3 Sportback 1.9 TDI E models to its fleet.

Europcar’s Audi A3 Sportback boasts an average fuel consumption of just 4.5-litres per 100km.
