Eurostar warns of further delays following Channel Tunnel closures
Eurostar is warning of further delays today even though it plans to run a full service.
Trains had been heavily disrupted over the weekend after a lorry fire led to the closure of the north Channel Tunnel.
More than 12,000 Eurostar passengers were affected by the cancellation of 26 services following the fire on Saturday.
There were further delays and cancellations due to unrelated power problems in the south tunnel.
Eurostar said it plans to run a full service from Monday, January 19 and passengers are advised to check-in as normal.
But it warned: "As Eurotunnel will not be completely operational Eurostar services may be subject to delays of up to about 30 minutes."
The Channel Tunnel is not likely to be fully operational until Tuesday.
On Sunday evening, Eurotunnel tweeted that passengers were still waiting one hour to check in and were facing a further a three-hour wait to board shuttles for France.
