Ex-First Choice boss takes travel PR role
Former First Choice activity holidays division boss Nigel Jenkins has taken up the role of non-executive chairman at travel PR agency KBC PR & Marketing.
The role at KBC is the first of a number of non-executive positions he plans to take on.
KBC holds contracts with Visit Florida, Capital Region USA, The Florida Keys & Key West and Travel Alberta, as well as Travel City Direct and parent company the XL Leisure Group.
Jenkins has been taken on to help develop business growth and provide guidance and support to the management team at the nine-year old agency led by owner Kate Burgess-Craddy.
He retired as managing director of First Choice Activity Holidays last October.
He said: “I first worked with Kate some 12 years ago, when she became Unijet’s first in-house PR manager. She brought significant skills to her role there and since leaving has developed a sound business with a great team around her.
“My knowledge of the North American market both as an operator and a former chairman of the Visit USA Association provides relevant experience for the current client list. By taking on this role as non-executive chairman, I will be helping Kate take the business to the next level and getting back to my entrepreneurial roots.”
Burgess-Craddy said: “I have always respected Nigel as one of the canniest operators in the business and in my three years at Unijet I learned much from him & “To now have him coming to work with me on my own business is fantastic. He has the energy and contacts to really help us develop KBC and the future services we offer to the travel industry.
