Expedia acquires two homesharing startups
Expedia Group is diving deeper into the homesharing market with two new acquisitions.
It is buying software solutions – Pillow and ApartmentJet – which will be integrated under Expedia’s HomeAway platform.
Pillow is a software solution that allows large property managers to work with long-term residents to rent out apartment space as short-term rentals while complying with their lease conditions.
ApartmentJet helps multifamily accommodation owners market their guest suites.
"Expedia Group is committed to delivering solutions that give urban building owners, managers and communities control and transparency over short-term rentals," said Mark Okerstrom, CEO Expedia Group.
"Our acquisitions of Pillow and ApartmentJet are important and foundational investments in the Expedia Group platform."
Both solutions have customizable options enabling owners to set limits on the number of rental nights per year or for the number of units in a building.
