Expedia agents fly in July
Booking volumes by Expedia TAAP Agents in Australia and New Zealand broke all previous monthly records in July.
“Agents are picking up on the specials which offer up to 50-60 percent off certain destinations on a regular basis,†said Stuart Udy, manager Expedia Travel Agent Distribution APAC.
The “Meet Emelia from Expedia†campaign which ran for two weeks in Sydney brought just under 100 new agents to the programme.
“These agents have quickly recognised the potential of the Inventory and Rates on Expedia and bookings are flowing through almost immediately,†Udy added.
Top destinations are North America, followed by Europe with South-east Asia closing fast.
“Domestic bookings started modestly but are picking up as agents start looking on Expedia for domestic rates as well,†said Udy.
The Expedia TAAP programme launched in India on August 1.
