Expedia opens New Orleans regional hub office
Expedia Inc. plans to open a new regional hub office in New Orleans.
The new downtown hub will oversee business in the New Orleans area along with Mobile, Alabama, Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
The region was previously managed by Expedia’s Dallas regional office.
Senior market manager Ted Bogan will lead a local team fostering partnerships in the local hospitality industry across its online brands.
Expedia Inc. is the parent company of Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com and over 100 other websites.
Bogan said the company will look to "sell the whole city" rather than focusing only on the French Quarter.
Bogan said Expedia had already "invested big" with website campaigns featuring New Orleans-based packages.
Expedia will look to partner with more hotels, tour operators and attractions in the city, Bogan said.
It recently started a program with City Sightseeing New Orleans to offer visitors discounted tours on its double-decker buses bookable through the Expedia website.
