Expedia, Routehappy partner for ‘happiness factor’ airline rankings
Online travel firm Expedia Inc. has inked a licensing agreement with flight ratings company Routehappy, giving the OTA access to flight scores and rankings for individual city pairs and airlines.
Expedia will list the data on flight search results through an API on its website.
Routehappy has developed a set of metrics it uses to rate onboard comfort of seats, flight duration, amenities such as Wi-Fi and food to produce its ‘happiness factor.’
According to Greg Schulze, SVP, global tour & transport at Expedia it offers "valuable information to help travelers make the most informed decision possible."
"This benefits both our customers and our partners as it allows travelers an easier way to find the flight experience that best fits their needs," Schulze said.
Expedia has started loading Routehappy ratings on selected routes on Expedia.com and plans to extend it to other websites and apps.
