Expedia to offer charter flights
Expedia.co.uk is claiming to be the the first ‘full service online travel agent’ to offer charter fares.
The online agent will first sell shorthaul fares, but plans to include longhaul routes once it reaches deals with other charter flight operators.
The charter flights on offer leave from 11 regional UK airports on 20 routes to holiday spots including Ibiza and Tenerife. Consumers can search for flights by price, flight length, and departure or arrival time.
Managing director Dermot Halpin said: “We look forward to expanding our charter flight offering over time as new charter partners come on board. The internet is the perfect medium for the sale of travel and more parts of the travel industry are beginning to realise this.”
