Explore Holidays has given the India travel scene some curry with the release of its first-ever dedicated India brochure – ‘Explore India 2006’.
An all embracing India program offering city stays, escorted tours and a broad range of independent travel ideas, ‘Explore India 2006’ comes nicely spiced with several new and exclusive travel programs.
These include two exclusive, never before seen, small group escorted tours – an ‘India Classic’ itinerary showcasing the country’s north and a ‘Kerala – God’s Own Country’ program accenting India’s southern region.
Highlights of the 10-day/nine-night ‘India Classic’ include several of the north’s ‘must see’ destinations – the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, Agra and the Taj Mahal plus the holy city of Varanasi where a sunrise Ganges cruise forms part of the plan.
Available from Delhi throughout August and September 2006 the ‘India Classic’ is priced from $2202* per person twin share.
This includes all accommodation in four to five star hotels, meals as per itinerary, sightseeing, train travel from Agra to Jhansi and one-way flights between Varanasi and Delhi.
In total contrast the 13-day/12-night ‘Kerala – God’s Own Country’ program presents good insight into less well known and more slower paced Kerala, the country’s southernmost state.
Mumbai is the start point for visits to several cities – Cochin, Periyar, Kumarakom, and Kovalam – which have been cleverly combined with a series of lake, canal and river cruises a feature of which is one night aboard a traditional houseboat.
The ‘Kerala – God’s Own Country’ program is priced from $2988* per person twin share which includes all accommodation in 5-star hotels, meals as per itinerary, sightseeing and return domestic flights ex-Mumbai.
Also new are a series of highly innovative short duration ‘snapshots’ geared towards time-pressured short-stay visitors or those looking to extend.
Choices range from a three-day/two-night ‘Spiritual India’ program encompassing the temple city of Khajuraho and Varanasi ex-Delhi to a three-day/two-night Goa beach and market oriented ‘Goan Getaway’ available ex-Mumbai.
‘Explore India 2006’ also features two classic train journeys.
These include eight-days on board the decadent ‘Palace on Wheels’ as it traverses south from Delhi into north-west India visiting the cities of Agra, Chittaurgarh, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur on route.
An alternative eight-day/seven-night ‘Deccan Odyssey’ is based on a triangular itinerary departing from Mumbai and travelling south through Maharasthra state to Goa then north via the cities of Pune, Aurangabad and World Heritage listed Ajanta and Ellora, celebrated for their ancient cave art and architecture.
*Conditions apply. Prices are per person twin share based on low season travel unless otherwise stated. Seasonal surcharges may apply.
Prices do not include international airfares.
