Explore Worldwide reports spike in trade bookings
Specialist tour operator Explore Worldwide has reported a surge in trade sales in recent weeks.
Having ramped up its marketing budget and new team members, Explore says it is reaping the benefits with a big jump in trade sales.
Philippa Baines, Agency Sales Manager for Explore said “After a steady few months of year-on-year growth, over the last four weeks we’ve seen 29% of all incoming bookings have been from travel agents, compared with 17% during the same period last year.”
“It’s been a fantastic year for trade sales and we just continue to consistently build on that, having published our first dedicated trade brochures for 2025.”
The operator most recently added to the trade team with Darren Phillips responsible for Scotland.
It says family trips have been selling particularly well.
The five most popular countries for travel agent bookings so far this year are Japan, making up 41% of trade revenue in the last four weeks, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Vietnam.
