Regional airline ExpressJet, until recently operating as Aha! Airlines has abruptly ceased operations and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

ExpressJet ceased all operations, including the Aha! Airlines business which was based in Reno, NV.

“We regret that a combination of market and economic conditions lead us to take this action,” the company stated in the filing.

Atlanta-based ExpressJet was a major regional carrier operating for mainline carriers Delta and United Airlines.

United then ended its partnership in 2020, and after a temporary shutdown relaunched as Aha!

Aha! Airlines flew out of Reno-Tahoe International Airport to nearly a dozen cities in the Western US

At its peak ExpressJet operated a fleet of over 400 regional jets.

United had a 49% stake in ExpressJet parent company ManaAir until very recently.
