ExpressJet names new COO
SkyWest subsidiary ExpressJet Airlines has named Terry Vais as new chief operating officer.
Vais replaces Alex Marren, who becomes executive vice president at Hertz Corporation.
As COO, Vais will oversee all flight operations, in-flight services, engineering, and partner relationships.
"Alex assembled an outstanding leadership team that performed immediately and continues to produce solid results. We thank her for her exceptional leadership and wish her the very best as she pursues other ambitions," said SkyWest, Inc. President Chip Childs.
"I’m confident that ExpressJet will continue to perform under Terry’s leadership. His track record and expertise have been instrumental in ExpressJet’s improvement over the last two years."
A 25-year aviation veteran, Vais was most recently ExpressJet’s vice president of operations, planning and support.
He joined ExpressJet in 2008 and previously worked at Los Angeles International Airport as director of hub operations.
ExpressJet, which provides an average 1,600 daily regional flights on behalf of American, Delta and United Airlines, also announced another key management change.
Brad Sheehan, currently serving as ExpressJet’s vice president of flight operations, will take over as senior vice president of operations.
