FAA interim chief named
The White House on Saturday named the Federal Aviation Administration’s safety officer as the acting leader of the agency. Billy Nolen was recently appointed as the FAA’s associate administrator for aviation safety and was previously VP for safety, security and quality at WestJet.
Nolen leads a team of more than 7,600 FAA workers. Nolen began his aviation career as an American Airlines pilot. He replaces current FAA administrator Steve Dickson who steps down on March 31.
