A Virgin Atlantic plane flying from Orlando to Manchester was rerouted to Canada after a family row allegedly exploded between a drunken passenger and his wife and father-in-law.
The pilot flying the Boeing 747-400 was forced to land in Gander in Newfoundland after cabin crew reported disruptive behaviour and arguing.
The plane was carrying 451 passengers and 17 crew and after Canadian police met and arrested Brit Roy Anthony Heaps, it continued onto Manchester, arriving three hours late.
Heaps appeared in court and was charged with assault, uttering threats, mischief and interfering with air crew, according to the Canadian authorities.
