FCM Travel becomes first TMC to get NDC Level 4 status
Flight Centre Travel Group’s corporate agency FCM Travel Solutions has become the first TMC to attain Level 4 of the NDC certification program.
This is currently the highest level of IATA NDC certification which allows FCM to book NDC airline content, and handle flight changes and disruption.
These are key functions in corporate travel management, says Jason Toothman, executive general manager of global air distribution at FCTG.
"The ongoing issue around implementing NDC has been the ability to handle bookings which have been disrupted. Disruption handling is a key element of corporate travel management and is often time critical."
Carriers including United Airlines, American Airlines and Lufthansa have reached Level 4 status but FCM is the only global TMC so far.
"We have spent the best part of the past two years focusing on our connectivity, travel content and NDC distribution capabilities especially in terms of servicing FCM clients effectively," said Nicola Ping, FCM’s manager of air content & distribution, EMEA.
