FCO issues blanket terror warning
UK: The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued a warning that British travellers face a heightened risk of terror attacks during military action in Iraq.
The Government issued a statement making clear the fact that attacks are now a serious possibility in resorts around the world:
“The risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks in public places, especially tourist sites, will be especially high during military action in Iraq.
“You should be vigilant, take sensible precautions, be aware of local sensibilities, monitor the media and check our travel advice for the country you live in or plan to visit.”
All Britons still in Iraq are currently being told to leave the country immediately.
