FCO warning follows Brussels police raids
Travellers to Brussels have been warned of ongoing police raids linked to last year’s Paris attacks in which 130 died.
One suspect was shot dead in a counter-terrorism raid yesterday and reports say that two militant suspects have been detained today.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office updated its advice to warn there is an ongoing police operation in Rue Du Dries, Forest, Brussels and that visitors should avoid the area and follow the instructions of the security authorities.
It said: "There have been a number of police raids and arrests in the Brussels region and other Belgian cities in recent weeks.
"Belgian security operations are likely to be carried out at short notice.
"Police have asked the public not to comment on police operations on social media."
