FCO warns of further Bangkok protests
Travellers to Bangkok are being warned there is a chance of more political protests in the Thai capital.
A number of demonstrations have already taken place in Bangkok and other parts of the country since the start of this month.
"Further protests could take place, with little warning, at various locations, with the main ongoing protest areas situated along Rachadamnoen Avenue including Democracy Monument in Bangkok," says the UK Foreign Office in its updated travel advice.
It said Thai authorities have implemented the Internal Security Act from 9 October to 30 November in the Dusit, Pom Prab, and Phra Nakorn districts of Bangkok, which will lead to an increased security presence and disruption to traffic.
Visitors are urged to avoid large gatherings and demonstrations.
