Federal Maritime Commission: check’s in the mail
The Federal Maritime Commission says it has begun to refund fares on cancelled cruises by the Olympia Voyager and the Olympia Explorer. Checks are being sent to cash paying passengers and credits have begun to be issued to whose who paid by credit cards, says the FMC. Royal Olympia Cruises has told the FMC that clients need take no action since the refunds are being processed automatically. The refunds are being processed in the order that cruises were scheduled to take place. The FMC says it has also been informed the all Olympia Voyager and Olympia Explorer cruises for January have been cancelled. The FMC noted that regulations provide only for the protection of the costs of the water transportation portion of the cruise package, which does not include air or other costs.
