Female pro golfer to front Thai golf tourism campaign
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has appointed pro golfer Pornanong Phatlum as the new face of the country’s golf tourism marketing campaign.
Ms. Pornanong is brand ambassador for the Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise campaign aimed at raising awareness among women players of Thailand as a golf destination.
"We are promoting the Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise project via the ‘Thainess through the Celebs’ Campaign not only to push Thailand forward internationally as Asia’s golf paradise, but also as the complete golfing destination for female golfers," said Sugree Sithivanich, TAT’s deputy governor for marketing.
"We have currently seen the rising popularity of golfing among females, both amateurs and professionals to go tee off on Thailand’s courses. Therefore, TAT has selected Ms. Pornanong, the rising star on the women’s tour, as Thailand’s Golf Brand Ambassador to promote the country as a world-class golf destination for women."
Ms. Pornanong is 30th in the Rolex World Ranking.
Thailand attracts golfers from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan, and is also growing in popularity for golfers from major European markets such as Scandinavia, Spain, France and Germany.
