Ferry hit by freight ship
A passenger ferry has been hit by a freight ship in a Dutch canal near Amsterdam, the BBC reported today.
Dutch police said the vessel "ran over" the small ferry about six miles south of Amsterdam, forcing it to capsize.
Divers are searching the canal for possible victims and a helicopter has been deployed to search the canal with a thermal imager, but so far there have been no reported injuries.
According to a report on the BBC, the captain of the ferry is missing. It is not known how many passengers were on the ferry, which could carry up to 15 people.
