Fiji Cousteau Resort gears up for reopening after multi-million-dollar renovation
Fiji’s Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort in Savusavu is set to reopen in just a few weeks following a multi-million-dollar, resort-wide renovation.
It opens again on 1 April after the most extensive refresh in the property’s history.
At the heart of the renovation is the transformation of five one-bedroom oceanfront bures into spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom residences.
Designed with extended families in mind, the new accommodations feature generous indoor-outdoor living areas, extended decks, daybeds and outdoor dining.
The resort transformation also refreshes shared spaces, and wellness amenities.
The temporary closure began on January 26.
Additional updates include a new ocean-facing fitness centre overlooking Savusavu Bay, a revitalised reception, dining and main pool areas, and restored landscaping and resurfaced tennis, pickleball and basketball courts.
Traditional Fijian craftsmanship has also been incorporated throughout, including magimagi (woven coconut fibre) detailing.
“This renovation marks a meaningful evolution for the resort,” said Nigel Fisher, General Manager of Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort.
“We’ve thoughtfully enhanced the accommodations and shared spaces to better welcome extended families.”
