First 4-Star Hotel in Soweto!
Zuka African Tourism and Investment Corporation (ZATIC) has announced at Indaba the first ever four-star hotel in Soweto, the Holiday Inn Soweto.
ZATIC is a majority black-owned hotel group, and a franchisee of the Intercontinental Hotels Group, and the new Holiday Inn will also be the first ever in the history of Kliptown, Soweto.
It is located on the Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication, also known as Freedom Square, which has now been proclaimed a National Heritage Site.
The hotel will have 48 rooms and is destined to become an iconic landmark on a number of levels. The architecture will reflect the essence and spirit of Freedom Square, and the amenities take inspiration from authentic African hospitality with a range of services and facilities.
Two rooftop boardrooms will have panoramic views of Soweto, and for people sitting in this room there is sure to be a sense of emotional and spiritual uplift as a result of being immersed in the historical context of the location.
