First ever virtual WTM Latin America begins
WTM Latin America kicks off today, bringing together B2B travel trade professionals across Latin America, virtually.
The first ever WTM Latin America virtual event runs until August 13, which is extended by a day due to demand.
Exhibitors including Orlando, bringing partners such as Walt Disney World and Margaritaville Resort Orlando, Dubai, Maldives, Egypt, Poland, Israel, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia, Guatemala, Barbados, and most Brazilian states, have confirmed presence at the virtual show.
"We have exhibitors from all over the world present at the event as well as Brazilian outbound tour operators that participate in our operators’ program and play an essential role in the event’s dynamics," said Simon Mayle, Exhibition Director for WTM Latin America.
"Domestic tourism is also well represented by the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil, which brings nearly all Brazilian states to the event. In addition, some Brazilian states and cities have also invested in visibility by coming with their own virtual booths."
Since last week, professionals selected for the "Agente na Estrada" (Agent on the Road) program have received destination training, especially for Brazilians and Latin Americans.
To date, there are nearly 1.100 travel agents confirmed for the event, 226 buyers – part of the Buyers’ Club and 106 hosted buyers.
More than 3,000 travel professionals are also registered – 58% from Brazil and 42% international.
In addition, WTM Latin America will have 352 exhibiting companies from 19 countries.
"The reason we added an extra date is the success of confirmed meetings. We exceeded our goal of 4,500 appointments; therefore, we want to offer the opportunity of one more day to do business and networking", said Thais Delben, the show’s marketing manager.
