First Utah-Asia nonstop flight takes off
The first direct route to Asia from Utah has now taken off.
Delta Air Lines introduced the first transpacific route to Asia linking Seoul’s Incheon International Airport with Salt Lake City, Utah.
The route will operate daily during the summer aboard Airbus A350-900 jets, with Delta One Business Class, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.
It will then operate three times a week in the winter.
“The Incheon-Salt Lake City route is the only direct flight in Asia,” said Jeff Moumau, Delta’s VP Asia-Pacific.
“This new launch will allow us to connect 14 cities in the US and Seoul with direct flights and provide various flight options throughout Asia through the Incheon hub.”

Salt Lake City is one of Delta’s major hub airports.
“Salt Lake City is Delta’s eighth hub and the center of a core network that operates 265 flights a day to 96 cities in the United States,” Mouma added.
“As it is connected directly from Incheon to Salt Lake City, cooperation with Korean Air in the Pacific Joint Venture will also be strengthened.”
Ryan Mac, VP of communication at the Salt Lake City Tourism Authority, said, “We are very happy to welcome Korean travelers to Salt Lake City. This is the best time to visit, including world-class ski resorts, national parks, and the upcoming 2034 Winter Olympics.”
