Five Star MICE deal

A special meetings deal is on offer as the Aussie C&I market demonstrates keen interest in Fiji’s new five-star resort located on Denarau Island.

Director of Conferences & Incentives, Natalie Brumniach says the industry is already welcoming the added conference capacity available at the resort which opened in December 2005 with a grand launch event attended by the Fijian Prime Minister.

“Fiji is one of a variety of new destinations now competing for the Australian, New Zealand and Asian C&I market,” says Ms Brumniach. “The new Sofitel Resort is already working to inspire new confidence and capacity for Fiji to pursue larger scale C&I groups and establish the destination as a serious contender for off-shore conference business.”

Ms Brumniach says the resort has not only increased the region’s five-star room inventory and introduced new state-of-the-art events technology, but offers expanded Fiji experiences and activities as part of its new C&I strategy.

Sofitel Fiji has the largest conference venue in Fiji with its ballroom seating up to 720 delegates theatre-style and 640 for a banquet style event.

The resort’s 8 meeting rooms also have private gardens and verandahs.

Not only does the resort introduce high-tech conferencing, but a range of event and leisure activities are offered by sports and action specialist Adrenalin Fiji, including skydiving, sailing, scuba diving and snorkelling.

Other resort attractions include a private imported-sand beach, the Pacific’s largest lagoon-style swimming pool with a deep dive section, spa and waterslide, bars and restaurants, the Turtle Club for children, shops and a private beachside wedding chapel.

Resort guests also have access to the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club with its 18-hole golf course and 10 tennis courts.

Mandara provides a range of spa treatments and massages at the resort’s beachside day spa with nine self-contained treatment bures.

Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, together with Fiji’s national air carrier Air Pacific, are offering a package deal for meeting planners.

Ex Brisbane                A$1090.00*

Ex Sydney                   A$1,115.00*

Ex Melbourne            A$1,135.00*

The package is valid for travel until May 31 2006 and includes return economy-class airfares, three-nights accommodation in an Ocean View room based on single occupancy, full buffet breakfast, return air conditioned transfers, traditional Fijian serenade and leis to welcome plus two days’ meeting room hire and a meeting manager.
