Flight ad banned by advertising watchdog
An advert by online agent Travel Up has been banned after they were unable to prove flights had been available at the published cost.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) upheld the complaint as the customer was unable to find flights from Heathrow to Dhaka available at £306 and the agency had no proof that the fare had been available.
The company had advertised the fare deal in its ‘dearflights’ and robinflights’ websites for travel on a specific date.
The ASA ruled: “The ad should not appear again in its current form. We told Travel Up to ensure that they held evidence to demonstrate that price claims were genuine.”
