Flight Centre Travel Group names StudentUniverse MD as chief digital officer

Australia based Flight Centre Travel Group has announced the appointment of Atle Skalleberg as new chief digital officer for the Group.
 
Skalleberg is the managing director of youth travel platform StudentUniverse, which was acquired by Flight Centre Travel last year.
 
StudentUniverse is based in Boston with offices in Toronto, New York and the Philippines.
 
As new CDO, Skalleberg will be tasked with setting the strategy for Flight Centre Travel Group’s digital commerce functions including online presence and booking services.
 
He will be supported by e-commerce and mobile development teams in Boston and Brisbane, Australia.
 
"Having a global digital leader is an important step to ensure that we are able to develop and execute on a clear digital commerce strategy and drive the digital transformation that will propel online and mobile services as part of our blended travel strategy," said Graham Turner, CEO, Flight Centre Travel Group.
