Flight disruption as Storm Gareth bears down on UK
London City Airport is experiencing a second day of disruption today as parts of Britain continue to be battered by Storm Gareth.
There were several flights delayed and cancelled this morning. Yesterday, the airport said services were being affected by ‘strong gusty winds’. It was advising passengers to contact their airlines for the latest information, warning that there might be knock-on affects due to aircraft being in the wrong location.
The Met Office is warning that Storm Gareth will gather strength today, causing gales of up to 80mph in southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The storm is expected to affect many parts of the UK and two yellow weather warnings for wind have been issued, warning that severe gusts pose a ‘danger to life’ from flying debris.
