Flight MH17 WAS struck by Russian-made missile
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which crashed over Ukraine killing 298 people including 10 Britons, was downed by a Russian-made Buk missile, according to a report by the Dutch Safety Board released yesterday.
It said the missile hit the front left of the aircraft, causing the cockpit to break away from the rest of the fuselage.
Ukraine says Russia fired the missile that struck the Boeing 777 in July last year, but Russia claims the missile was fired from Ukraine controlled territory
The report doesn’t state which country or group fired the missile, but it made it clear that Ukraine should have closed the airspace. On the same day, another 160 flights passed through the same area.
Relatives of the 298 people onboard who died were told they would have lost consciousness shortly after the plane was struck.
