Flight simulator training offered to Thai frequent flyers
Thai Airways’ frequent flyers can now take a virtual journey around the world at the controls of the carrier’s official pilot training simulator.
The airline is opening up its head office in Bangkok to Royal Orchid Plus members to take a spin in a virtual Airbus A380 or Airbus A330 watched over by a ‘simulator specialist.’
Members can hone take-off and landing skills at airports including Sydney, Bangkok, Hong Kong and London Heathrow.
Simulator sessions are available between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and should be booked at least three days in advance.
ROP members pay 9,900 frequent flyer points for a session, which the airline claims can be accrued from just a single return business class journey from Sydney to Bangkok.
