Flock of birds grounds plane at Munich
One of Qatar Airways’ Dreamliner 787s was temporarily grounded after hitting a flock of birds just before landing at Munich Airport.
The shiny plane ended up with ‘multiple bird impacts’ yesterday causing the return journey to Doha to be cancelled while repairs were carried out.
A spokesman for the airline said: "On 20th July 2015 Qatar Airways’ flight QR059 from Doha to Munich suffered a bird strike on approach to the airport. Following a full inspection of the aircraft it became necessary to cancel the return QR60 service.
"Passengers were either rebooked on to a later Qatar Airways service or other services to ensure that the disruption to their journey was kept to a minimum."
