Florida Huddle opens in Miami
The sunshine state’s top travel trade gathering is now live.
Florida Huddle 2024 has opened in Miami with this year’s show the biggest in terms of delegates and appointments ever held.
“2024 has seen a massive increase in the number of appointments that have been confirmed in comparison to last year,” said Dana Young, Visit Florida CEO.
“This shows the importance of tourism as the vast majority of these meetings will be with the aim of bringing additional visitors to the state.”
Young was joined on stage by Miami CEO David Whitaker who said: “With almost 200 buyers representing twenty-nine countries, the Miami Huddle can be considered a success. It reflects the international pull of our destination.”
It was announced that Miami will be hosting at least seven FIFA World Cup 2026 games including the 3rd/4th play-off.
With the Lionel ‘Messi’ effect in full swing, the destination is well placed to exploit sports tourism in the next few years.
Next year, Florida Huddle 2025 will be held February 2-5 with the host venue to be announced.
