Flybe ‘only budget carrier’ to go full content with Galileo

Saturday, 12 Jul, 2006 0

Low cost carrier Flybe’s web fares are to become available to agents via Galileo.

This is among the outcomes of a three-year full content distribution deal between the airline and the Travelport-owned GDS.

By using Galileo agents will be able to book and produce their own tickets for Flybe flights and pay via the Billing and Settlement Plan.

The airline’s head of sales Stephen Hobday claimed that Flybe was the only low cost airline to support GDS and the travel trade with full content.

“The agency distribution channel is important to us and our agreement with Galileo enables us to continue to serve this channel with the highest level of content, while allowing us to achieve our business goals,” he said.

Travelport business development vice-president Matthew Hall said: “Being able to deliver low cost carrier content alongside traditional airline content is a key requirement for travel agencies to compete in today’s market place.”
