Food, wine and thoroughbreds for Flemington
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) and the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival will serve up the hottest dish in town on March 8, the Flemington Grazing Trail & Cellar Door at Flemington’s Super Saturday race meeting.
The new event will feature cooking demonstrations between races courtesy of food writer Matt Preston, Joe Grbac (Saint Crispin), Daniel Wilson (Huxtable and Huxtaburger), Jesse Gerner (Bomba and Anada), John Lawson (No.8 by John Lawson at Crown Melbourne) and Adam D’Sylva (Coda and Tonka).
Boutique wineries, breweries and top Victorian producers are joining in the festival to offer a unique cellar door atmosphere.
Entry to the Flemington Grazing Trail & Cellar Door is free with an admission ticket to Super Saturday.
Also included is the autumn’s premier Group 1 thoroughbred racing, with the Darley Australian Cup and Lexus Newmarket Handicap, worth $1 million each.
