Foregenix launches specialist fraud team for airline industry
Security and data forensics firm Foregenix has announced the roll-out of a specialist airline industry security unit to assist airlines, airports and aviation service providers in protecting their internal and customer payment data.
A dedicated airline services team will offer professional security leadership and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance support and has already began working with key organizations in the industry including the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
“The travel-sector-specific experience that Foregenix has developed and brings to the airline industry will certainly benefit the airlines and our partners in improving their payment security,” said Pascal Buchner, director ITS & CIO at IATA.
“As the association that represents 250 of the world’s airlines, we keenly support the development of more intelligent and robust data security within our sector.”
Foregenix has worked with many multi-nationals in the travel industry, advising on security and compliance for data processing centres, global distribution system suppliers, airports and travel agents.
Benjamin Hosack, director at Foregenix, says the firm’s industry experience and know-how is key to understanding the unique security and payment challenges specific to the airline and travel sector.
“We have been working in the travel sector for years with organisations such as IATA and many other large multi-nationals. The payment card data security challenges in the sector are complex and require a very good understanding of the travel industry ecosystem in order to be able to provide guidance,” he said.
